Liu built a lot of the furniture in the apartment, including the bedroom’s sewing table, by finishing and attaching plywood surfaces to simple metal legs. The couple share a large standing desk in the living room, another DIY piece. “Designing our home so it is a nice place to work, as opposed to a desk in the corner, was a really intentional move for us,” Liu says.
