First Light Film Festival is a contemporary film festival project. FLFF regularly features: new local and international film from all genres. The visual identity has been inspired by Japan’s cultural situation during post war 1950. Inspired by the rise of four Japanese directors, that brought light back into a Japanese creative culture, and gave Japan the global recognition that it needed. Blurred typography, shapes and subtle blurry nuances that run throughout, emphasise the fading of Japan’s identity. The shapes of the festival are inspired by the circle of the Japanese flag, in which signifies the sun. First Light’s quarter circle, half circle, and finally full circle, representing the rising and rebirth of Japanese cultures and cinema.
