Montreal prides itself on being a “creative city.” Quebec relies on arts and culture to energize and diversify its economy. These two postures find their origin in the theses of Richard Florida, whose book The Rise of the Creative Class has made creativity one of the favorite concepts of urban planners and municipal decision-makers.
